*RETURNS are at the customer's discretion, but skirts must be returned in original condition with original tags and packing slip. Original condition means free of any odor, smoke, perfume, lint, pet hair, etc. Items must include original tags still intact and packaging (if applicable). If you no longer have the packing slip, please click here to print a return form. Please ensure the item(s) sent back are through a traceable and /or insurable method as The Skirt Outlet is not responsible for any shipments not received. Original shipping & handling charges are non-refundable.
*RETURNS: The Skirt Outlet will offer a full refund on the original purchase price of the products (excluding shipping) when they are returned and received by The Skirt Outlet 14 days of the date you received your order.
*RETURNS: Any returned merchandise received in 15-30 days will be allowed exchange only. Merchandise returned in over 30 days will not be accepted or refunded without special permission, and may be subject to a restocking fee.
*CUSTOM ORDERS: There are no returns allowed on custom items. You will know if an item is custom if you get to pick the fabric and length of skirt. If we made an error (example: wrong fabric), please let us know within 7 days of receiving your order. We will correct the situation to make sure you get what you ordered at no extra expense to you.
*All the items in the "Final Sale" section are final. No exchanges or returns allowed.
*EXCHANGES: We offer Free Exchange Shipping. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. This will ensure that you get the color or size you want. Please include (1) the order number of your original purchase, and (2) mention "This is an exchange." You must contact us within 14 days of the date you received your order to qualify for free exchange shipping. Then, you pay to get the items back to us, and we will ship your exchanges back to you for free! This service is limited to once time exchange only. Any additional exchanges must be returned to us at your own cost. We are happy to help with sizing and style selection to help avoid this. Free Exchange shipping only applies to 48 contiguous states.
*Any online customer has the option to return items to our store in Eureka, IL.
*In the rare event that you find one of your skirts to be defective, you must contact us within 30 days in order to receive compensation.
*Despite our best efforts to ensure all is perfect, occasionally we make a mistake. If the item is damaged or defective, we would be happy to refund your shipping costs to return it to us. To insure that we can refund you the full shipping price, we ask that you please contact us before you ship it back to us so that we can advise you on how to ship the package. We cannot refund express shipping if you choose to send it that method. We recommend adding delivery confirmation when sending it back to us, as we cannot be responsible for packages lost in the mail.
*Our free exchange shipping cannot be used in combination with our coupon codes.
*The Skirt Outlet is not responsible for items lost in the mail. We provide you with a tracking number so you can track your package online until it reaches its destination. If you wish to purchase insurance, please contact us, and we will add it to your total for $2.
*All orders, except custom orders, are usually shipped the next business day after the payment has been confirmed. If the order is placed before 12 noon during business hours, we usually ship out on the same day the order is placed.
**THE SKIRT OUTLET IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY FOR STOLEN PACKAGES. PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH YOUR MAIL CARRIER AHEAD OF TIME. DO NOT ALLOW PACKAGES THAT CANNOT FIT IN THE MAILBOX TO BE DELIVERED OR ACCEPTED UNLESS YOU ARE PRESENT.**
*Custom sewn skirt orders take 2 weeks before shipment, to allow time for the custom sewing to happen. During our holiday rush (November-December), please allow 3 weeks before shipment. Your custom order will arrive in a separate package from the rest of your order.
*For any address inside the United States, the shipping rate for USPS Priority Mail is $8.00 for the first item and $2.00 for each additional item. (3-4 business days).
*For any address in the state of Illinois, shipping rate for Priority Mail is $6.50 for the first item and $1.50 for each additional item. (2-3 business days).
*For any address in Canada, the shipping rate for USPS Priority Mail international is $25.00 for the first item and $5.00 for each additional item.(6-12 days). Please note that international customers might be charged the custom import duty when the package enters your country.
*For any address outside the United States (excluding Canada) the shipping rate for USPS Priority Mail International is $30.00 for the first item and $7.00 for each additional item.(10-12 days). Please note that international customers might be charged the custom import duty when the package enters your country.
* Shipping Charges for EXPRESS Orders (Inside United States only) - $26 for 1 skirt order, and $9 for each additional skirt added to the order. You must call us for this option, as we are only open 4 days a week and cannot offer it every day.
*If you choose Store-pick-up: You are responsible for picking up your items within 2 weeks of your online order. Please contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions.
*MONEY ORDERS: If chose MONEY ORDER as payment option at checkout, we will hold your order for 10 days. After we receive the money order, we will ship out your skirts.
Frequently Asked Questions
*Why do you recommend measuring a skirt to find my waist and hip measurements instead of using my actual body measurements?
*I added the item to my cart, and it said to “contact us for availability”. What does that mean?
** The Following is a list of the ONLY clothing items we are now accepting:
- Girl Skirts sizes 3 and up. Knee length or longer
-Modest Maternity tops
-Adult long skirts: no high slits, and must cover knees completely when sitting.
**You can help us greatly with the sorting out process by following this tip for skirt length: If you can eye the skirt, and it is obvious to you it will cover the knees completely when sitting in any position, the skirt will probably be a great fit for the store. If you have to check the skirt by holding it up first to see if it’s long enough, do the “Sit test”, or you pause and think about it, we will probably pass it up. Thank you for your help!
** Skirts must be freshly laundered and ironed, and well presented. Sorry, we can’t accept skirts stuffed in sacks.
** Skirts must be in ‘like new’ condition, and in great shape. No excess sign of wear: no stains, balling, tears, holes, rips, etc. Nothing outdated.
**Skirts must be appropriate for the season or upcoming season. For example, we will not sell a brightly colored lightweight skirt in fall/winter.
**Sorry we do not ship our consignment skirts
** We prefer NAME BRAND. Here is a list of some desirable name brands: Ann Taylor Loft, Gap, J Crew, Chico's, Coldwater Creek, J Jill, Coach, Ralph Lauren, Christpher&Banks, Old Navy, Maurices, Style J, etc
**We carefully inspect your items, and set pricing with consideration given to name brand, original purchase price, style, and demand of the item. If we do not feel that we can sell your skirt for at least $8-10, we will donate to charity. Any items we decide not to sell will be donated to Goodwill or some other non-profit organization, such as CAM. Space is tight at the store, so we have to be choosy.
**You can drop off your clothes anytime during our regular business hours. (Tuesday 12-4, Thurs and Fri 10-4, and Sat 9-2.)
** We have a 30-60 day consignment period and we mark down items any time after 30 days. Any items not sold after 60 days will be donated to charity.
** There is a 50/50 split on all items sold.
** Your balance is updated monthly. Please come in to the store to redeem your balance which will be paid in cash.
